At Noel Studios, we believe in the power of storytelling to illuminate, inspire, and impact. Our journey began with Rip Noel, who studied photography and filmmaking at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Rip’s early career saw him excelling as a Hollywood studio manager, a newspaper photojournalist, and for nearly thirty years as an award-winning commercial photographer and filmmaker for Fortune 500 clients.

In 2018, Rip transitioned Noel Studios into documentary and feature film production, channeling his extensive experience and creative vision into long-form storytelling. Today, our studio is bustling with multiple projects in pre-production and production, and we proudly represent several successful screenwriters, bringing diverse and compelling narratives to life.

Rip Noel is not only a visionary filmmaker but also a published non-fiction author. He is currently channeling his deep-rooted love for the Appalachian Mountains into his first fictional novel, set in the very region where he grew up. This personal connection to the landscape and its stories enriches his work, both in literature and film.

Rip and his late wife, Deborah, shared a profound connection to the Great Smoky Mountains. Married over 30 years ago in the serene and picturesque Cades Cove, their bond with each other and the region was a cornerstone of their life together. Deborah’s passing in 2024 left a deep void, but her love for storytelling and the mountains continues to inspire Rip and the work of Noel Studios.
